120 Bahadur

2025 Hindi MovieWar Action Drama History

Valiant Indian soldiers fight against Chinese troops during the 1962 Sino-Indian War, preventing a potential occupation of Ladakh region in the Battle of Rezang La.

"Power in History, Not in Cinema" 120 Bahadur tries to tell the powerful true
story of the Battle of Rezang La, but the way it is presented feels very template. The movie shows too many routine war film elements like funny conversations between soldiers, emotional talks about their homes and families, and even a dance song in the middle of a war situation. Instead of adding depth, these scenes slow down the movie and reduce the seriousness of the subject. Farhan Akhtar plays the role of Major Shaitan Singh, but his casting does not feel right. He fails to bring out the strong personality, body language, and heroic aura of such a legendary war hero. His performance feels flat, and the emotional weight of the character is not properly delivered. The screenplay also fails to show the true intensity of the real incident. The film does not create that emotional connection with the audience. Instead, it wastes time on unnecessary scenes like Farhan Akhtar’s wedding and related song sequences, which feel forced and out of place.  However, the Chinese army’s side and their war preparation scenes are presented nicely. The final conflict and battle sequence in the climax is decently shot and is somewhat engaging. But even during those moments, the strong patriotic and emotional impact that should give goosebumps is still missing. Even though India lost the 1962 war, the Battle of Rezang La is remembered as a heroic chapter in history. Sadly, the movie fails to translate that powerful story properly onto the screen. You can watch this film if you just want to know about the incident, but don’t expect a deeply emotional or impactful war experience. Overall a Below Average War - Drama  that deserved a much better screenplay and execution. Movie Reviewer Survival Note:  "If you disagree, fine. Just don’t make me rewatch it.”

In #120Bahadur, director #RazneeshGhai observes history from the outside.
He doesn't so much salute the brave soldiers as ask us to salute his "pretty piece of work." FULL REVIEW

#120Bahadur is a film of two halves really - a routine first hour followed by a
