Aaryan, directed by Praveen K.,
is a psychological crime thriller that begins with an inventive premise but struggles to sustain a consistently engaging experience, hindered by uneven execution and missed opportunities. The film opens with a gripping hook—a killer who becomes his own first victim on live television—immediately pulling viewers into a world of psychological tension.
The narrative ambitiously explores the fine line between genius and madness, ambition and morality. Yet, the second half falters with pacing issues and a storyline that feels stretched and occasionally unfocused. The social commentary and final chapter come across as forced, leaving the film’s potential underutilized.
Technically, the cinematography and music are well-crafted, but they cannot fully offset the weaknesses in storytelling or the logical gaps in the plot.
In the end, Aaryan emerges as a serviceable thriller with a clever opening and decent performances, but it ultimately falls short of its promise—delivering only moderate suspense and a somewhat unsatisfying conclusion.
