Athiradi is an out-and-out commercial entertainer that is definitely worth
watching in theaters. I heard a lot of negative reviews before going in, but personally, I didn't feel that way at all.
The performances from Basil and Tovino were great. Tovino went a little over the top at times, but he tried his best to nail the Trivandrum slang and was mostly convincing. Basil's comedy landed well, but his looks and styles in the beginning of the movie felt very unnecessary —they could have handled his styles and looks in different way. The Vineeth and Shaan combo worked really well, and the rest of the cast, including the cameos, also did a good job. While there are a few minor flaws in the screenplay and execution, they are easy to ignore. All the other technical aspects are solid.
Overall, despite a few small flaws, it's a fun-packed commercial entertainer that you should catch on the big screen.
