I’ve always loved Saoirse Ronan’s work, and I would say this is also one of her
brilliant performances.
It tells the story of a young woman who settles out of loneliness and a desire to escape the suffocation of her own country. I relate this to the modern situation at times, as many people today are trying to find their bread and butter far from home, while still managing to create a home in a new place.
Being a woman in a foreign land and settling down in a new country is challenging, though she chose different ways to deal with her crises.
