MAN OF CINEMA
Charming ode to independence at old age, a story that challenges societal
perceptions and prejudices about aging.
The joy of living never dies, what dies is your soul which stops looking for new connections, new experiences, being resilient and living the life on your own terms.
Leaving a place where you were born and grew up is hard for anyone, but its even harder when you are forced and break you emotionally. Those memories and feelings of belonging will always pull you back to your origin. It's a very sweet, funny , warm and sensual story of preserving your roots, cherishing the life you have, and living for your own happiness because no one else will do it for you.
This film is also very political and personal, many spanish people fled form spain during civil war and a home for themselves in this city, and after living whole life here if someone again tries to kick you out from their house and the city then Maria shows the resilience, rebel against her own daughter in order to save her house, identity and life. I really loved it.
