Con City manages to sustain a satisfyingly playful vibe through eccentric character dynamics and clever twists, but its narrative is weighed down by a bloated runtime, over‑the‑top cinematic liberties, and repetitive pacing issues in the second half. Breaking away from his usual brooding villain roles, Arjun Das embraces a grey‑shaded character with solid screen presence, proving he can anchor a commercial crime comedy. Despite her talent, Anna Ben is underutilized, with her character lacking narrative depth. On the technical side, Sean Roldan’s energetic score pairs well with Arvind Viswanathan’s distinct color palette, effectively building a stylized con‑world. As the scams escalate in the second half, the writing demands extreme suspension of disbelief. The cons become so implausibly easy and grand that the film loses logical grounding. Sudden solo emotional scenes near the climax also feel misplaced against the prevailing slapstick tone. On the whole, Con City is a breezy, one‑time watch that delivers enough black comedy and con‑artist hijinks to entertain.
