"The Hindi Version Delivers the Conclusion the Malayalam Version Failed to
Deliver" For perhaps the first time, a remake of a movie franchise has managed to deliver a better outcome than the original. What makes this even more interesting is that the Hindi version of Drishyam 3 is releasing after the Malayalam third part, yet the Hindi team has no connection to the Malayalam film’s screenplay. Surprisingly, this version delivers the kind of conclusion that the Malayalam film was missing. It goes a step further and gives the franchise a much more satisfying and proper ending. The story begins six months after the events of the second part and introduces Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj to checkmate Vijay (Ajay Devgn). The way these new characters are used adds a lot of tension to the story. Jaideep’s investigating character is designed in a way that makes us feel that he might finally trap Vijay and his family. The courtroom scenes involving Prakash Raj’s character also create a lot of curiosity. They keep us wondering how Vijay will escape from what seems like the toughest situation he and his family have faced so far. The smartest part of the writing is how the film uses Vijay’s previous crime-escape tactics from the second part against him. All the things Vijay did to escape in the previous film are now being used by the people investigating him to build a case against him and his family. This is something the Malayalam version failed to make proper use of. Even until the ending, the film keeps the suspense alive through Vijay’s intelligence. We constantly see him staying several steps ahead of the investigating officers and finding new ways to protect his family. This makes the final stretch engaging and gives the story the kind of satisfying conclusion the Malayalam version was missing. Overall, Drishyam 3 delivers a smart and suspenseful conclusion that finally gives Vijay’s story the ending the franchise deserved.

It was a good watch while it lasted, but once the movie ended, it felt pretty
average. I can understand the comparisons with the Malayalam version, but for me, the original is

Sometimes, a third part can feel unnecessary, like a story being stretched just
because the franchise is popular. Thankfully, Drishyam: The Conclusion never feels that way. Right
