A Beautiful film ❤️
There's something magical about opening a film that starts
with those beautiful lines about Delhi. You know how sometimes the first few moments of a movie just set the perfect mood?
And honestly, that's exactly what "Gustaakh Ishq" delivers. This is one of those films that wraps around your heart because the writing is genuinely beautiful. The dialogues are so well-crafted that they don't feel like dialogues at all - they feel like conversations between people you know, between people who actually care about each other. There's warmth in every line, and you just feel it.
What really stands out is how cleverly the film uses shayaris throughout the story. It's not forced or pretentious - it's woven into the fabric of the narrative so naturally that you find yourself noticing how perfectly they fit each character's moment. It's something that stays with you while watching.
Naseeruddin Shah brings such incredible warmth to this film. Honestly, he's given some of the best-written dialogues in the entire movie, and the way he delivers them just melts your heart. He and Fatima Sana Sheikh share this beautiful, genuine bond on screen as father and daughter. You can feel the love between them
Speaking of Fatima Sana Sheikh, she's absolutely stunning as Minni, but beyond that, she gives a truly strong performance. She carries the emotional weight of the film with such grace and authenticity. Then there's Vijay Verma as Pappan - he’s incredibly expressive in every scene. His diction, his delivery, the way he shapes every word is something you notice and appreciate, especially if you've followed his work before. It's the kind of attention to detail that makes you respect an actor even more.
"Aap is Dhoop" song has to be my favorite - there's something so special about how it's broken into parts throughout the film. It doesn't just play once; it comes back at different moments, each time matching exactly where the character's emotions are at that particular time.
it's got this old-school fairy tale flavor to it. It reminds you of those stories you loved growing up, but with a modern heart and soul. The tone is fun, cheeky, and cheerful in the places it needs to be, but it never loses its emotional core.
The second half is where the film really shines. Just when you think you know where it's heading, the screenplay keeps you engaged and invested. There's not a moment where you feel bored or disconnected -you're thoroughly watching, feeling, and experiencing every beat of the story.
By the end, you're left feeling quite emotional. It's not heavy or depressing - it's the kind of emotion that comes from watching something beautiful unfold before your eyes, from seeing characters you've grown to care about reach their moment of truth.
