"A Different Kind of Monster Movie With an Intriguing Mystery but an Uneven
Execution" Hope is a sci-fi monster movie set in an isolated quiet South Korean village. The writing creates a mysterious atmosphere without revealing the creature responsible for the terrifying killings and destruction in the village. The story keeps moving for almost 45 minutes, showing the aftermath of the horrific events without revealing the creature itself. This creates a strong sense of mystery, making the viewers feel that something terrifying is lurking around the village. This creates a sense of mystery and makes viewers feel that something scary is hiding in the village. When the monster is finally revealed, the narration takes a different turn as we slowly begin to understand the creature's motives. The creature's appearance is also quite different from what we usually see in monster movies. As the story progresses, the screenplay makes us question who the real villain is, making the film a little different from a typical monster movie. However, the film has its flaws too. Most of the human characters lack proper backstories, making it difficult to feel emotionally connected to them when they die. The CGI also looks a bit artificial when the creature is shown clearly, which affects the overall experience. The repetitive action scenes in the middle also make the film feel a little tiring. Overall, Hope is an interesting take on the monster genre with a mysterious first half, but repetitive action and weak CGI hold it back.
