The series had a good start, but quickly lost me with its contrived writing.
Why would a Vicar, desperate enough to lock a tutor in the cellar to protect his family, not simply reveal the name and story of the real pedophile from the outset? Instead, the show leans on exaggerated reactions (the Vicar and his wife spiralling over a flimsy assumption) and builds its entire plot on that shaky foundation. The result felt forced and frustrating. I won’t be tuning in for season 2, if it ever comes.
