MAN OF CINEMA
We finally got the actor manoj back, who was lost in the last few years.
Here you will see the sensibilities, little details and how sensitive this character and performance was. I really loved watching him here.
Because of that performance in the film you feel It's not the last man in that tower, you were standing with him backing him and rooting for him till the very last moment, when everyone else around him folded like cards in the name of greed and fear. Exploited and manipulated by corruption.
The last man in tower, is not just a story of one old man holding on to his memories, love and attachment he shared with that house and to do the right thing. This film is about dying empathy, rising corruption, decline of value of life and increase of greed of having more, but nothing comes without consequences or regrets or mistakes.
This is a film which will not inspire you or preach you like other films to stand against corruption and fight it and win it at the end.
It shows complete failure of the system from every end and how deeply corruption is rooted in our society and one old man cannot change it, no matter how stubborn he was with his principles. It's a film that shows a mirror to you, the sad reality that comes with it.
It shows a square foot of space has more value than your life, you are just a placeholder and will be replaced but that space will be there, which will always be used to exploit people. And it also shows the value of feeling of belonging to a place , how the horrors of re-development and displacement breaks that feeling and leaves you like a ghost haunted by your own past memories and present complexities.
