MAN OF CINEMA
A quirky and angsty coming of age dark comedy packed with tension, absurdity,
clash with identity and hilarious relatable moments that capture the awkward anguish of adolescence.
While growing up we always feel like we are stuck between two worlds and you don't belong in either of them, It feels like no one understands you or gets you and you end up hurting the feelings of lots of people around you.
Here also we see John stuck between a religious Christian mother who control his behaviour, hinders his growing sexual desires, never have conversation about them instead make him believe that its sinful act and a rebellious atheist horny girlfriend who challenges his every belief, makes him do crazy things. amidst these chaotic moments he goes through crazy ride of understanding himself.
The film breaks away from its tired genre tropes and tries something so absurd and crazy and yet feels very relatable. Because growing up understanding god is as complex as understanding sex. This film explores that dilemma with excellent commentary.
