When the trailer released, I thought to myself that it is going to be the same
theme of ishq, betaabi, and heartache. But once the film released, my heart was filled with a longing to consume another Imtiaz story and I was right, it was a tale of love. Yet, there was so much new to feel and cry over. The horrors of Partition are always far greater than what meets the eye.
Nasiruddin smashed his role and knocked it out of the border. Loved the happy, naughty, and in love characters played by Vedang and Sharvari. It was majorly a Vedang film though. However, Diljit… his presence speaks volumes. They should have either given him a better stand-up script ya karwate hi nahi. Bilkul fit nahi hua woh part.
What stayed with me the most was this thought: when you suffer, is it better to die or to live forever carrying that pain? What if living does not feel like survival, but a sentence you serve every single day?
