Two young brothers explore Lagos with their estranged father during the 1993 Nigerian election crisis, witnessing both the city's magnitude and their father's daily struggles as political unrest threatens their journey home.

MAN OF CINEMA
" The Memories when someone leaves will hurt you the most, but they will also
comfort you later" Akinola Davies Jr tells a beautiful, aching story out of family dynamics and social & political turmoil in Nigeria. These both themes are very interrelated and go hand in hand in the film. Here the father is craving for a better future of the country, and hopes for better living conditions, whereas his kids wish to spend more time with his father and peaceful life. Both will only happen when the crude military regime will go away and democracy thrives in nigeria. Father's character is written as a deeply hurt , disappointed and angered soul, desperately clinging to the absent hope of a newly elected leader that will bring sweeping change to a troubled country. Disiru's performance as a father is incredibly heartbreaking. He always tries to push forward despite setbacks and obvious disappointments, always teaching the great values of life to his boys. These two boys walk around lagos with their father as his shadows, learning and experiencing new things, as the future of nigeria lies on the new generation to take the country out of shadow into light of happiness. It can be a deeply personal story for any watcher, tapping into the vulnerability of loss and hope that is needed.
