One of the best buddy comedies you will see in quite some time.
It uses multiple tropes like time travel, friendship, the desires and the dreams mixed with hilarious silly comedy, with an experimental approach of mockumentary.
The pairing of these two completely different characters is awesome, I’m always a fan of pairings where one of them seems like “the normal one” but it’s only by comparison to the other. They both are delusional, manipulative, idiots with bad plans, you will love their psycho platonic bond they have and the dynamics of it throughout the film.
Both characters prompt this fear of “what happens when I’m out of options? When I’m dead broke and no one will look after me? Do I even have a shot or am I going at it all wrong with bad plans?” In a way I’m already playing the rivoli…it just still isn’t paying the bills. Will it ever?
In the end its all about a never ending journey where you continually try to succeed in something you love no matter what happens, but also realise that you will fail multiple times miserably along the way, but that journey seems less hard when you have a friend by your side who keeps you sane and shares the same dreams and delusion.
I also feel if you really want to feel the eccentricity and hilarious madness of this film then you'd have to watch it after a full day of smoking crack. I am sure it will hit differently. Its that Ludicrous
