What an incredible film! For a 1977 Tamil movie, it felt astonishingly raw and
real. Every single character delivers a powerful, grounded performance; there’s not a false note anywhere. And at its heart, what an unforgettable love story: tender, tragic, and beautifully human. Somewhere deep down, every Mayil deserves a Chappani; a love that’s pure, quiet, and true. Sadly not every story gets one, but we all wish it did.
