Predestination is one of those films that grabs you fast and then just keeps
messing with your head in the best way. Right from the opening, things happen so quickly that you’re invested almost immediately – there’s a bomb, a timer, a tense mission, and you have no idea what the exact mission is, but it feels deadly serious and life‑threatening. The risks feel real, and that urgency hooks you before you even know who anyone truly is. Then the movie suddenly slows down and throws you into these calm, talky bar scenes, which feel completely different from the tense mission at the start. This is where the bartender (Ethan Hawke) meets a customer who calls themselves “The Unmarried Mother,” and that conversation quietly becomes the heart of the whole film. The story of the Unmarried Mother, Jane (Sarah Snook), is honestly fascinating because we get to know her almost entirely through her backstory. She’s an orphan, brilliant, and clearly different from the other girls, and you can feel how out of place she is in every environment she’s put in.Her character is witty and sharp, and her life is both complicated and brave, so every detail she shares keeps you engaged – and you’re constantly wondering: why is she telling all of this only to this one bartender? About 30 minutes in, I was already blown away by Sarah Snook’s acting. She makes Jane feel so real that your reaction goes from “this is touching and sad” to “this is disturbing and tragic” as the truth about who she is slowly comes out. Then the time‑travel part really kicks in, and this is where the film just goes wild. There’s a twist after a time jump that you genuinely don’t see coming, and it completely changes how you see Jane and everyone around her. After that, you start to see how Jane, the bartender, and the whole “Fizzle Bomber” plot are all tangled together in a loop – like the story was always meant to happen this way. It feels like you knew the whole story, but you didn’t realise what it really meant until the film shows you What I loved most is how every time jump makes the loop tighter and more disturbing, constantly changing what you think about each character. The movie shows the loneliness of this agent’s life, and how they’re stuck in this mix of self‑love and self‑hate, living inside their own decisions again and again, which ties into the idea of determinism – that everything that happens is already caused by something before it. By the end, you might guess some things, but the real fun is in watching it all unfold and realising, “What if the person you’ve been chasing all your life is actually you?” – and just sitting there thinking, “What the hell did I just watch?”

This movie has one of the most confusing narratives I've ever seen.
The plot twists are great and give some shocking effects, but it's still confusing. I think I'll need to
