An interesting idea is how the family house is treated almost like a character, holding the memories of three generations and symbolizing Gustav’s emotional attachment and the film’s “sentimental value.” Overall, Sentimental Value feels like an average watch — thoughtful in parts, but not emotionally powerful enough to leave a lasting impact.
