It’s rare to find a movie that makes you think for a longgg time, movie that
can make you numb. Sister Midnight is one of those kinda movie for me. Uma’s journey is heartbreaking, but also strangely empowering.
There are moments when I couldn’t distinguish what was in her imagination and what’s for real because the movie absolutely portraits the reality but yet it feels so absurd. Deep down you agree with visuals and cinematography because it’s so true and does have implications.
There are many MANY instances in this movie that made me question where is this going? What are they trying to show, is anything even related but you just need to let pass and understand it’s about a woman trapped in a depressing marriage.
I can surely say that this movie is not going to provide a comfort to anyone it’s weirdly wired and reflects deep messages.
I feel it’s all about a woman trapped in the world which is expecting her to preform certain tasks based on the idea of her being a woman and she is also set to become absolutely certain to not only break those expectations but serve them with something that is very opposite, throwing woman into a madness.
