i do not care for the oscars or any supposedly prestigious awards, i'm going to
be honest. i never take my recommendations based on how many awards a piece of work has won. i'm a writer and i know better than that after reading utter hot garbage that goes around winning pulitzers. SO! i had no idea this movie won an oscar 😭 anyways. i'm a simple person: friend recommends me something, i look up absolutely Nothing. i just consume. and god, what a great recommendation it was. the line, "if it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a village to abuse one," needs to be hung up at the louvre or something, man. i don't know. just... hall of fame. big fan of how the movie focuses entirely on the daily, routine work of investigative journalism. i think this is a very, very important movie and everyone should watch it. 10/10.

"it takes an entire village to raise a child and an entire village to abuse
them." just sums up the whole movie.
