The Cine Column
Recognizing the viral fame of the eccentric duo Sureshan (Rajesh Madhavan) and
Sumalatha (Chithra Nair) from Nna Thaan Case Kodu, Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval crafts a spin‑off entirely centered on them. Unfortunately, while the pair thrived in small, measured doses, stretching their love story across a full narrative exposes the thinness of the premise. What could have been a sharp, experimental comedy instead becomes an exhausting, over‑indulgent exercise in style over substance. To add a meta‑layer, the film is structured like a theater production. Characters step in and out of stages, backdrops shift dynamically, and the line between real life and performance is intentionally blurred. Technically, it is a marvel—an ambitious visual experiment. Poduval treats the canvas with theatrical symmetry and a vibrant, Wes Anderson‑esque color palette. Transitions between timelines are seamless, and the meticulous recreation of Payyanur across the ’60s and ’90s—sets, props, costumes—is commendable. Rajesh Madhavan and Chithra Nair slip back into their roles effortlessly. Their deadpan expressions, quirky dialogue delivery, and physical comedy remain charming at first. But the film’s undoing lies in its screenplay and pacing. By presenting the same romantic conflict in three separate timelines, the narrative quickly becomes repetitive. The theater‑style presentation, initially fresh, devolves into a distracting gimmick. Constant timeline jumps and fourth‑wall breaks drain the emotional weight of Sureshan and Sumalatha’s struggle, reducing it to a slapstick loop. Sureshanteyum Sumalathayudeyum Hrudayahariyaya Pranayakadha proves that a viral joke or meme doesn’t always translate into a great movie. It is over‑directed, loud, and bloated—collapsing under the weight of its own eccentricities. While it deserves credit for bold visual experimentation and structural audacity, the lack of emotional depth and coherent storytelling makes it a tedious watch, especially in the second half.

Good performance and making , But script and duration wise testing patience
Binge Label
The film has some weak spots in the development of the narrative, but it also
includes enjoyable comedic moments and songs, making it watchable.
