The Innocents

So subtle and realistic yet terrifying at times. Deborah Kerr just knocked it out of the park with her performance in this, one of her best. But it's the child actors that shine most in the movie, especially the boy who acted really well. Their performance was so mature and effective. loved the ambiguity between the paranormal and psychological cause of the happenings. Nothing is more creepier to me than two children that are extremely secretive & manipulative with antisocial personality, borderline personality disorder from being unwanted & traumatized, schizophrenia, and/or other mental illnesses from isolation, trauma, and lack of true living parents. Film Shot in Cinemascope, love the way the lighting is done to have a sharp focus on Kerr and leave the edge of frame dark giving it a more intimate as well as claustrophobic effect.
