MAN OF CINEMA
Peer Pressure, social pressure and FOMO is a plague that can be really
contagious especially among young people which pushes them to commit actions which they often do not like. This movie channels that fear and paranoia among kids into a stark reflection on collective breakdown.
Its a simple and effective film which instills the feeling of anxiety, claustrophobic, alienation and being an outcast so damn well. It highlights the profound effects of social pressure and paranoia on child psychology The divisive impact of hierarchy, mob mentality, and peer bullying, combined with the gripping tension that overwhelms the viewer, makes this film that leaves a lasting impression. It is quietly suffocating horror about social control, contagion, and adolescence.
The film is relentlessly painful and hard to see this side of young kids, it forces you to confront the process of how abuse and bullying forms and what it leads to on the minds of young victims.
I really liked Everett Blunck's performance in "Griffin in summer" movie, and here also he delivered a top performance, showcasing his great acting range and skills with two completely different roles. The casting of kids is so perfect, these kid actors are so good at being assholes I felt the secondhand shame through the screen, and triggers you quickly and feel like slapping those kids so badly. Its a psychological drama that does not caress your desire for the genre, instead it asks to reflect on the generation we are building, which is full of toxicity, hatred and superiority complex. That makes this film an essential viewing.
