MAN OF CINEMA
Jia Zhangke films the exact moment China's youth realized the future was a lie,
kids reenacting Pulp Fiction in dead-end towns while their lives collapse in slow motion, unemployment and boredom as existential dread, it's a masterclass in generational despair.
Maybe it's not a film for everyone. It has its own pace and with little dialogue, but I liked it. It's a very everyday film but with hard hitting questions about existentialism and the bleak future.
