Last week, I found out that Weapons had opened with a 100% score on Rotten
Tomatoes. Add to that the glowing buzz I’d been hearing, and there was no way I wasn’t going to experience this in a theatre. And was it worth it? Absolutely.
From the first frame, this small-town mystery grips you like nothing I’ve seen in recent horror. It’s eerie, hypnotic, and wildly unhinged — a madness wrapped in genius. Zach Cregger delivers a film that’s as smartly layered and deeply unsettling as it is darkly amusing. It never slips into predictable territory, and much like the best of Ari Aster (Hereditary, Midsommar) or Jordan Peele (Get Out, Nope), it builds its own cinematic language, pace, and style.
Yes, there’s some comedy sprinkled in, but what took my breath away were the sounds — so meticulously crafted and placed that they almost became another character in the film. Every creak, whisper, and distant thud pulled me deeper into the tension, keeping me at the edge of my seat.
The isolated setting, masterful camera work, and committed performances make you feel like you’re right there with the characters, trapped in this twisted, suspenseful riddle. And the payoff? Rarely do such great buildups land so satisfyingly — but Weapons sticks the landing with a climax that’s both chilling and unforgettable.
It’s a gorgeous blend of crime thriller, mystery, and horror — one that never lets fear loosen its grip on you. For me, this is easily one of the best horror experiences of the year.

Interesting and works but somewhat predictable for these kinda movie lovers.
I would still recommend watching for its intensity, performances and screenplay.

“Weapons” is less a movie and more a 2-hour endurance test for your brain
