MAN OF CINEMA
What happens when wild and witty minded Guy Ritchie meets clever and stubborn
Sherlock? A cocktail that is highly entertaining but also refreshing for both fans of ritchie and sherlock.
Even though it takes a lot of liberty and goes off the book with its story and characters, it still somehow never goes out of the box. I think huge credits for that goes to the dynamic relationship between Sherlock & Moriarty. His archnnemesis in the other versions, but here as his partner in crime and a friend who he could trust, till he can. I think without these two, the series would have massively flopped.
Despite saying that for some reason i liked the character and the performance of Moriarty more effectively than sherlock. I think it's because of actor Dónal Finn who plays moriarty. Much more experienced and polished compared to a rather new actor who plays sherlock.
For me this was more of moriarty origin story and the turning point where he drifts apart and chooses to be evil.
Guy Ritchie with this show tells, you can shape the sherlock in one frame, you can take characters and run wild with it. It has everything one geek wishes for from the universe of holmes. I really enjoyed it, especially the second half of the season.
