A good documentary.
A snapshot of ambition confronted by systemic shortcomings. Kieslowski showcases Industrial limitations, state bureaucracy vs Athletic Ambition and Human Resilience. Kieslowski criticises the Communist era of Poland by this film which serves as a whole metaphor for Polish economic and industrial troubles. Kieslowski utilizes minimal narration, favoring a fly-on-the-wall style that captures real-time preparation and tension. The editing was good. The sound design was good. The short could have been even more better with some more emotional connection and intensity though like focusing a little bit more on his relationships for like 10 mins added or something. Documenting a real-life Polish rally driver is amazing stuff man.
