man who had everything still felt nothing, the man who knew so many people, still was a lonely soul throughout his life. And he tried to fill this void with external means like money, power, politics, but he never felt fulfilled like he felt when he was a kid with his sled (rosebud) with his innocence and all the happiness in the world.
Citizen Kane still stands tall as the greatest american film ever, which talks about man's pursuit of happiness in the form of materialistic things and what he loses along that way which cannot be valued and brought back. And that person will be left yearning for the past when he had happiness and simplicity in his life.
