A well-made film with exceptional visuals and outstanding score that is
sequel-worthy. The film is set in Wallachia ( modern Romania ). The film follows themes like Power vs Humanity, Fatherhood and Legacy, Price of War and Religion. "Is it right to become a monster to save what you love?" Vlad becames a vampire to save his people and family which he loves very dearly. Sulthan ( a man ) who was in power demanded 1000 children while Vlad ( the vampire ), in power, demanded his people's safety and well-being. There can be Humanity in Power if the step taken was correct. The film critiques the brutality of the empires and the cycles of Violence while depicting Vlad falling victim to the same cycle himself after trying to break it. Crucified, light vs darkness, and holy relics play a role in the film. The loss of faith in God is paralled to the loss of humanity in the film which is a bad take from the director. The visuals are mind-blowing in the film. Kudos to the cinematographer John Schwartzman. The Castles, forests, battlefields cloaked in shadows all give out the Gothic aesthetic. The editing was great. The use of slow-motions are done pretty well in action scenes. The colour palette is cold Steel blues, moonlit greys and blood reds which enhances the film. The VFX was amazing in the film. The film blends history and mythology amazingly. Based loosely on the real Vlad III Dracula aka Vlad the Imapler, the film blends Bram Stoker's Dracula with Vlad depicting him as a tragic hero instead of a blood thirsty monster. The acting performances were great. Sarah Gadon was amazing as Mirena. The fight sequences were outstanding. The mass was done right. The film should have had some more exploration of Dracula's thirst for blood. The film was illogical in 2 or 3 scenes. The staging was a big problem in this film. The emotions didn't stick very well in some moments. The plot requires a lot more realism than the film depicted. An even more realistic approach would have been exceptional. The time jump was pretty fast. This film deserves a prequel as much as it deserves a sequel. We really need to what and all happened in the massive time jump. The concept of Dark Universe is really interesting but I think rebooting it and blending Dracula with Tom Cruise's mummy will result in a huge blunder. Let it remain cancelled. But I really want them to reboot the Dracula alone. It still has a nice plot to continue.

The film had some strong aspects, but overall it lacked cohesive support due to
its inconsistent narrative. While the beginning built anticipation for an impactful development, it
