An exceptionally crafted poignant film with an excellent plot.
The acting performances of everyone was amazing. The world-building was exceptionally done for the whole franchise.
Bill Skarsgard, OMFG, that man is crazy. His acting was mind-blowing.
This film, while focusing on supernatural horror, also serves as coming-of-age narrative. The film showcases children confronting Pennywise while confronting their inner fears simultaneously.
The film delves into themes like Fear, Trauma, Power of Friendship and Societal Neglect.
The ' It ' symbolises the manifestation of fear feeding of the children's fearful and traumatic situations of their lives. This film shows what the power of friendship and the power of togetherness can achieve. The adults' indifference to the town's horrors shows societal neglect. The character development was great in this film.
The Cinematography of Chung-hoon Chung gives us the 1980s vibe very well. The lighting, colour palette and the camera angles enhances the films eeriness.
The score by Benjamin Wallfisch was outstanding. His score and music complements the film's tone and elevates the tension and suspense.
" Fear. "
It doesn't scare that much like jumpscare-horrors but it's far more intense and interesting than those kinds of films.
Even though I watched this film just now, i have seen the death scene of Georgie plenty of times in my childhood as the film became that famous in those days and that scene became very iconic.
