But in modern relationships that give and take is taken the form of money minded materials , dating marh or how many boxes you have ticked to be the right partner. People check for everything in that one person before checking whether that person has the capacity to give love and respect, and take a flawed person accept you as you are. But instead we see in reality how relationships and marriage have become an economic proposition and in the modern world capitalism, dating has turned us all into commodities which are labelled, categorised and measured to the core, trying to find the best investment possible. Celine really tried to depict these things with a love triangle where Lucy is materialistic girl who values the things and money more than the person, John is brok ex boyfriend who is now back in her life, and i really felt bad pedro pascal whose character was just rebound romance for lucy and ditched him for no reason. Guy gets hurt at the end in every other movie. His character was also very badly written according to me. He did not have any major impact. I loved Certain scenes the way it was captured and its writing. Everything was written and directed by celine, the film oozes with maturity, intelligence, and the importance of perception in relationships and creating subtle emotional tone around them. A romantic dramedy which may not work every level which you expected, but still is an earnest attempt to showcase complex relationship dynamics influenced by things which we don't have in control, but very much driven by it either forcefully or willfully.
