"The television screen is the retina of the mind's eye."
This film with artistic body horror ideas predicted the future of the humans getting addicted to TV, the internet, constant urge and stimulation for the violence and sex in the movies and porn industry. And how this constant harmful consumption sometimes can blur lines between reality and virtual life. It shows how the screen becomes part of our brain, and whatever appears on the screen emerges as raw experience in our mind which makes stuff on screen more real than our actual reality. We live in over stimulated times and constantly crave for it, reels are the biggest example of it. No matter if it's good or bad, we just watch it just for sake. We gorge ourselves in it and always want more. It also brilliantly depicts the power of consumerism and capitalism overpowers the basic human nature. First it controls our mind then it controls our lives. This movie was way ahead of its time, very edgy, explicit and creative. This disturbing film was not just for shock value, it was prophecy.
